Whether you love him or hate him, Jeff Bezos has accomplished something that most people can only dream of: becoming the most successful business man on earth. According to Forbes, Jeff Bezos has become “the world’s first ever person to amass a $200 billion fortune.” This feat has caused a great divide on the internet between two groups: people who find Bezos’ net worth a great accomplishment, and people who find this large figure rather appalling.
Bezos’ supporters think of him as a transformational leader. According to an article titled “Jeff Bezos: The best living transformational leader as example,” Jeff Bezos inspires others with vision. Some people who want to be successful and make large amounts of money look at Jeff Bezos as an example.
And it is hard to deny that Bezos has changed the shopping industry. What used to require a long and sometimes tedious trip to the store now just requires a few clicks of one’s mouse. Jeff Bezos’ company, Amazon, has a very easy to understand and user friendly interface, which makes it all the more easier for customers to use.
This is why people will oftentimes choose Amazon to purchase products from instead of other stores. It is very easy and simple to use. Many people ignore the fact that Amazon workers are treated poorly. Amazon is said to treat it’s workers “Like Robots”, according to an article from Time magazine, titled “I Worked at an Amazon Fulfillment Center; They Treat Workers Like Robots.”
Despite the very public outings of Amazon’s human decency problems, it has still managed to stay successful. How is this? Because of the quarantine caused by the coronavirus. Amazon offers an easy way for people to go shopping, without the worry of contacting someone with COVID-19. Amazon has profited greatly off of the pandemic, and will likely continue to for years to come.
