The closer we get to the new year, the closer high school seniors get to meeting their college deadlines. Many students are at different stages of the application process. The craziness of the times we are living in mixed with the stress of the college application process has resulted in a very strange situation.
Many students have been pushing through the crazy circumstances and working on getting their applications done and submitted. Sam Rancourt, a senior at Greenfield High School, is currently working on finishing up his college applications. Many students are in the same boat, myself included. Especially when one has a long list of colleges they are applying to, a good strategy is to get them all done and re-read them all prior to submitting.
Other students, on the other hand, have already turned in their applications. Sarah Wyngowski, a senior at Pioneer Valley Regional School, has already turned in all of her college applications, and was accepted to everywhere she applied. Ceci Wood, a Senior at Turners Falls High School is also in the same boat, and was accepted into all of her top colleges.
There are some students, however, who have been faced with extreme difficulty when it comes to applying to colleges. Some just haven’t been granted a good opportunity to sit down and get things done, while others have been faced with technical difficulties. Jackson Brown, a student at Pioneer Valley School of Performing Arts, had all of his Common Application information deleted, and is currently working on getting it all back.
It’s clear to see that people are in very different places in the college application process. Only time will tell how things play out through the rest of the school year.
