The Steam Awards are in for 2020, but you probably don’t even know what they are. The Steam Awards are awards given to games on a thing known as Steam, which is a place to buy games digitally for your computer and it is also the biggest of all places to download games. Every steam user had the ability to vote on 10 categories with the 5 nominees each.
So what are the awards and who won? The first award is VR game of the year and The winner was Half-Life Alyx, the game people were expecting to be Half-life 3.
The second award was Labor of Love, the game that the devs put the most love into this year. The winner was CS:GO, a game I have no opinion on.
The third award was Better with Friends, the game that was the best when you played with those close friends you want to make mad. The winner was Fall Guys, a game most people had forgotten due to the Among Us craze.
The forth award was Most Innovative Gameplay, the game with the most creative gimmick. The winner was Death Stranding, also known by fans as Courier simulator.
The next award was Outstanding Story-Rich game, the game that hit people hardest in the feels. The winner was Red Dead Redemption 2, a very beloved sequel that people had their hopes met.
Up next is the Best Game you Suck at, the category that makes people mad and throw their keyboards. The winner was Apex Legends, one of the few Battle Royale games that has lasted.
Outstanding Visual Style is next, the game that is the most beautiful to look at. The Winner was Ori and the Will of the Wisps, a victory most people expected.
Best Soundtrack is next -very self explanatory. The Winner was Doom Eternal, the game with a main menu theme more intense than most final boss themes.
Sit back and relax is next and that's what I'm gonna do. The winner was The Sims 4, a game I get way too stressed about to relax.
The Game of the Year is the last award and was a very difficult choice to make. The winner was Red Dead Redemption 2 for its excellent story and being a great sequel. That is it for the awards and I believe that every game that was nominated for the awards deserved it this year.
